how to eat a higher vibration diet
Eating high vibe nutrition—or foods that are filled with life-giving nutrients literally in the building blocks of proteins, carbs, and fats and more micronutrient with the emotions of love, happiness, and joy, even contentment, is one way to bust through any energy stalls you may experience in life. Heck, you might be in one of those right now. Use these high-vibe fueling tips to feel more energized, alive, free, and resilient.
eat with roy g. biv.
As we all know, ROY G BIV. is an acronym for the colors of a rainbow. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. There actually are no truly blue foods even though we call them blue, but the point is to create a plate stacked with foods that span this color spectrum.
Consider a McDonald’s Happy Meal. Lots of shades of brown in chicken nuggets and French fries, and some fake yellow and red colors in honey and ketchup.
Set that next to a nice salad or an Indian food meal, which is full of color. A plate, let’s say, of boiled greens, carrots, yellow lentils, purple potatoes, and roasted red peppers.Start to visualize the rainbow when creating your meal, and start checking in that your plate resembles the rainbow before you dive in.
2. go alkaline some of the time.
Alkalinity is a measure of your pH, or acid, levels in your bloodstream and urine. Alkaline foods and fluids—which are, on a scale for 0-14, above a 7, encourage the flushing out of toxins from your body. It is important to have some of these foods and fluids in your diet to keep stagnancy from building and resting in any one spot.
Consider a diet of only acidic (the opposite of alkaline) foods. It might look like: meat, coffee, pastries, carbonated beverages, white bread, peanuts, corn, and tap water. Honestly, this is a bulk of the SAD (standard American diet).
Set that next to an only alkaline diet. This might look like: cucumbers, celery, all sorts of sprouts, coconuts, lentils, sprouted breads, herbal teas, and ionized, mineral-filled water.
My suggestion is not to go all alkaline, nor to go all acidic. Chances are, your diet is more acidic at the moment—so start adding in a few more alkaline foods and drinks each day.
3. explore the waters of the world.
Live algae, which grow in fresh water, salt water, and brack water (a combo of the two), are nutrient powerhouses, because they take in nutrients from the sun (photosynthesis) and convert them into readily usable nutrients for the human body (bioavailability). They come in blues, greens, browns, reds, and more. For safe consumption, make sure to look for the NSF symbol and third-party testing on whatever product you buy—the latter confirms they passed the test.
Consider a diet of only ground-based foods. It might look like: animals, fruits, vegetables, and grains. At first sight, this is a wholesome, full-spectrum nutritional diet. However, these foods don’t have as readily acquirable nutrition as algae.
Set that next to a bowl complimented with sea moss, a smoothie filled with chlorella and spirulina, or a rice dish speckled with red and brown algae.
The former is great, the latter is greater. The high-vibration micronutrients found in these water-grown plants will get soaked into your cells straight away, providing a faster track to a clean body and mind.
4. get shroomy.
Nah, stawp trippin’.I’m not asking you to eat those kinds of mushrooms.
Fungi are the most biodiverse of all things that grow on this Earth, ranging between 2.2 to 3.8 million species. Can you imagine if we had that many species of humans? 🤣
As it stands, we only know about less than 1% of them! However, of the ones we know, we’ve discovered over 10 species that have wildly positive adaptogenic (hormone balancing), antioxidant (cell anti-aging), immune-building (anti-infection), and nootropic (brain-boosting, brain-protecting, and brain-expanding) properties.
Here are 6 mushrooms to explore, whether in dish form or as supplements:
Lion’s Mane
Chaga
Cordyceps
Reishi
Turkey Tail
Tremella
My favorite and most trusted company to gather these from, in powder form, is Four Sigmatic. Try adding in one of these this week and see how you feel. I recommend to start with the supplement (tea or capsule form) and then dive into eating the mushroom in its raw/cooked form.
5. feel your food.
What the heck, Abby?
Yes, reader.
Stemming from Paul Check, great Holistic Health Coach, this is a practice of essentially gauging consent from your food to join forces.
I wrote about this in yesterday’s post, but it is worth a second mention.
Before you dive into chomping away at the stuff in your bowl, before even prepping the food for your bowl…lay the ingredients out. For example, a mango. Place your hands above the food and connect. Consider the journey it took to get to your kitchen. Consider the nutrients it is filled with. Consider its beauty. Then, with hands hovering, not grasping or touching at all, ask: “would you like to join me in this dance?”
If you feel a natural gravitation of the fruit towards you, it’s a yes.
If you feel a pulling away, it’s a no.
This is feeling your food. It’s not so much a test for whether it is high-vibration (although you can use it that way), more so a test for whether you are making a high-vibration partnership in choosing that food in that moment.
closing remarks
Eating a high-vibration diet is not about eating what makes you happy, in the instant gratification sense. If we all did that, we’d be fat and lazy and dis-eased. Eating a high-vibration diet is about being very intentional, engrained, grounded, and pure in your food selections as well as your food creations based on those selections.
